A Study on the Relationship between guardian burden and quality of life according to Activitise of Daily Living of Brain Lesion Patients

Abstract
Objective : The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between caregiver s burden and quality of life according to the ability of daily living activities of brain lesion patients in hospitals.

Methods : During the study for 15 days from April 1 and October 1, 2019. study was analyzed for 74 caregivers with family caregivers among patients with brain lesions who were hospitalized at rehabilitation and general hospitals in Busan and Ulsan. The activity of daily living of patients with brain lesions was measured by the Korean version of the modified Badell s Index (K-MBI). The burden of caregivers and quality of life were checked through a survey. statistical analysis using SPSS 23.0 Version.

Results : There was a negative correlation between the patient s daily activities and the caregiver s burden (p <.01), and the quality of life also had a positive correlation (p <.05). The relationship between the daily living ability of patients and the burden of caregivers showed a high correlation with eating, restroom use, stair up / down, dressing, control of urine and urine, and movement (p <.01) and There was a high correlation between diet and gait items in the relationship of caregivers quality of life (p <.01).

Conclusion : In this study, the higher the overall daily activities of the brain lesion patients in hospital, lower the burden on the guardian and higher the quality of life.
